A Little History of Waxing

The act of removing hair goes back to the ancient world – Egypt, Persia, India, Greece, Turkey etc..
Hair removal was considered as good hygiene, in some cultures hair removal was part of a ceremony such as preparation for a wedding. The “wax” used was in fact a sugar paste made with lemon and this is referred to as sugaring.

 

The modern day Brazilian Waxing was obviously developed in Brazil –  the driving force being the introduction of the thong style bathing suit at the beaches in Rio de Janeiro. Clearly such bathing suits require a waxing method to match……
